18x 2tb seagate barrcuda drives... check
2x QNAP TS 859 Pro+.. check
11,000GB of storage in RAID 6.. :)

..if you have 18 x 2 TB drives, you should have 36 TB of storage - 2 drives, for ~32 TB .. how do you only have 11? :P Where's the rest?

8x 2tb drives in raid 6 = 12tb (you lose some on the format etc)

i have 2x TS-859 Pro+.. that's 16 drives in raid 6 = 24tb raw storage or about 22tb after format

2 drives are spares that is on the shelf

I am upgrading from 2x TS-659 Pro+ running 2tb seagate LP drives

It's mostly my TV and blu ray rips that is taking up the most space.. i am up to 60% full on my current array and I thought I upgrade before I hit the ceiling.. it takes no time at all to fill up since I am now on extreme cable

it was ok.. wasn't that special of a price break.. the qnap did cost less so it makes up for it
