hd tune has an aam feature just not sure what it does it says performance at one end of the scale and the other says low noise give it a shot

Thanks for the reply.

No dice. It says the same thing as Crystal Disk Info says. That there is no AAM feature, only APM. It only gives me the option to change the APM option, which I've disabled. Maybe this has something to do with the clicks? Going to test that theory now...

Edit: Sweet baby God the noise gets about 10x louder. This doesn't feel good. I've had good luck with hard drives so far in my short life with computer parts but this is just a lemon if I've ever seen one...

The clicking also takes place while I scroll on web pages or scroll a bar. Also, strangely it clicks even during the computer's idle state. Very weird...

Clicking , when it gets louder means your hdd is about to die. Everytime I have heard a distinct "click" starting I have ended up with a dead hhd. And thats quite a few now over the years.

Okay guys, I need to start over. Turns out the noise is NOT coming from the hard drive. In fact, it is coming from some part of the lower section of the motherboard. The motherboard is an ASUS P5B-Plus. It is not any of the fans and I doubt it is the graphics card, as it is brand new.

I've taken a video so you can hear what I am hearing. I replayed the video to myself and it is difficult to hear, but the noise is there.

Bump. Noise is coming from a Mosfet on the lower part of the board, next to the southbridge.

Is there any quick fix to this?
