My System Specs

Default

Cheapest 1TB+ seem to be the WD Caviar Greens. They're also the slowest drives, though. I have both a 1TB and a 2TB in my gaming system. When opening a folder, if the drive has been idle for a while, it takes a few seconds to actually respond and compile the list of files. Also, opening media files takes a few seconds. If you can live with this, then fair enough. Go for the Greens. If not, you might want to consider something a little faster like a Blue, or a Seagate Barracuda.

Other advantages for the Greens are that they consume less power, and I think that they're quieter than other drives. I have a SSD as my main boot drive, with a Caviar Black as my secondary install drive. The Caviar Greens hold all my media. when accessing data, I cannot hear any HDD noise at all...

For storage just get WD Green drives. Speed isn't needed just reliability but its a hard drive and none are reliable.
