Default Corsair Performance Pro 256GB SSD Review Comment Thread

Corsair's Performance 3 256GB SSD showed many enthusiasts that an SSD didn’t need to have “SandForce” in the same sentence as “performance” and that the new Marvell controller was a force to be reckoned with. Today we will be putting the Performance 3’s successor –the Performance PRO- under the microscope to see if it can meet our already high expectations.

I love my M4 and have been recommending it to folks for ages but this drive is something else. I would take this over the top Sandforce drives any day.

Great price on the drive here:
Corsair Performance Pro Series 256GB 2.5IN SSD Marvell SATA3 6BPS 515MB/S Read 440MB/S Write - DirectCanada

$401 + tax, free ground shipping (or +$10 for air shipping).

Very tempted to splurge and replace my Vertex 3 120GB... running out of space with games + Adobe apps :(

One of the nasty things about NDA's is that you can't discuss the agreement itself, not just the product. He won't even tell us lowly moderators who the drive is from, let alone the results of his testing.

Just be happy AkG gave a broad hint to someone about to spend over $400 on a drive that they might want to wait a week.

Cherryville isn't due until Q3, we're still in Q1 eh.

Come on... Let it be a smaller, cheaper drive with excellent GC that you can raid 0 with. Insane performance for CHEAP.

?? Where are you getting these dates from, YoungMan?

Cherryville - SSD 520 - Page 6

People are already receiving new Intel drives from retailers.

Intel 520 Series 180GB 2.5" SATA3 6GB/s 34nm SSD (SSDSC2CW180A3K5) - Computer Lounge
