Default Is it possible to Convert 1tb goflex seagate external drive to internal?

I'm thinking of converting my external hdd to internal so that i don't have to buy another drive when i buy a new pc in Q2 2012. Will the hard drive prices decrease by Q2 2012?

Yes it's very possible, it's the cheapest way to get storage now. And no they will probably not be down until 2013.

Just understand that by doing so you have in all likelihood nuked your warranty....sooo you may want to test, test...TEST before cracking the case open. This is what I did to a couple Seagate GoFlex Desks. Pretty easy to do, even managed to recycle the case's so that I could reuse them (ie I turned a couple 3TB'ers into WD Black and Blue based 1TB'ers :P).

@supaflyx3 any chance that the prices may even go higher?

@Akg what do i need to test before cracking the case open?

Its very possible that when stocks become very low that prices will sky rocket even more.

Take apart the external housing. Inside will be a 3.5" SATA drive. Some smaller drives will be 2.5". Often external drives are cheaper than their internal counterparts (for reasons I can't fathom).
