Can a Sata II Based Laptop read a Sata III SSD
Hello everyone, I would like to know if I can put a SATA III into my laptop that is a SATA II...

it will work since they are compatible with each other... it will run at sata 2 speeds.

AWSOMMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means I can buy a larger SSD to put in my tower and put my old SSD in my laptop!! :) Awsome!! :P

Fully backwards and forwards compatible. Interface speed isn't really a big deal with SSDs because they are generally bought for random read performance, rather than sheer linear sustained read or write speeds.

Basically, anything with a SATA connector will plug into anything with a SATA connector. Even the 150mb/sec "SATA" interfaces (not even SATA-2) can benefit from a SSD enormously.
