Default OCZ Nocti mSata 60gb SSD - Heat / Slow?

Okay then, Got me a pretty new Lenovo Y470. Installed an OCZ Nocti mSata SSD into it then restored the factory image to the SSD. Questions:

1 - It run HOT. Like... what the hell? Why do SSDs run hot? The plastic on the outside of the compartment it very warm to the touch, and its uncomfortable in my lap.

2 - Its slow? 109 Seq reads, 69 Seq writes using crystal disk mark. Other speeds are similarly slow. Can it be because I restored the system image (from DVDs) onto the SSD instead of installing it fresh (aka partition alignment?).

Please help!

Always fun *cough annoying cough * to not have he install disk. But I may have to fresh install anyways.
Ahci is always enabled.

EDIT : the heat worries me more than the speed btw. I know I need to reinstall, but do I email the nocti cause of the heat is the bigger concern.
