Does anyone have a working OCZ SSD?

been using my Vertex 2 (not extended or whatever came out later) since last November, and not a single problem. If SSDlife is to be believed, it is still at 100% health with an estimated lifespan of 8 years 6 months to go, and I turn my computer off when not in use. Of course, it could die any time...but that's an entirely different matter.

My one gripe is that I can't update the firmware with my OS on it without having to wipe, unless there is a new way to do this?

Firmware updates can now be done via the OCZ Toolbox on SF-1200 without wiping the drive, but frankly, if it's working, why mess with it?

this is what I figure. I think my FW is something like 1.3, and never ran into a hitch. Until it starts acting up, or starts doing things that it shouldn't, it's probably safer to leave it alone lol.

I do have a Vertex 2 and a Solid 3.

My Solid 3 have died 2 months after the purchase (may to July 2011) , my vertex 2 is running very great since almost 2 years

I ran a Vertex LE 200GB in my desktop for ages as a boot drive.

My wife's PC has 4x Onyx 32GB in RAID 0. That setup is going on a year now.

I've run various Vertex 1, 2, 3, Agillity 1, 2, 3, drives and a Revodrive X2 240GB either in boot or secondary roles in my test benches since launch on all products. I've yet to experience BSOD issues on any of my OCZ drives, nor have I had any such issues with Mushkin, Corsair, Intel, Kingston, or any other SSD... Overall the reliability factor has been a big plus for me compared to hard drives.

I have 3-Vertex 2 60gb in Raid 0 as an OS/game drive for almost 2 years now. Not one problem.

I have had to replace Vertex 2- 120's twice. Vertex 3 - 240's 3 times. Kingston 64GB V100 once, well I actually haven't done it yet... it really bothers me since Kingston is a "reliable" brand, and it was just in my HTPC which doesn't get much action.

Have you tested the write speed? I lost about 25% performance on mine since new. I have been using it quite heavily though.

I also have a Kingston 64gb in my HTPC, trouble free for 1.5 years.

TBH I don't think I've ever tested the write speed. If there has been a degradation in performance, I haven't noticed it, so it can't have been that significant.

Mine has just been running Windows and that's about it really aside from some games.
