Default SSD for Imac 2008

Hey guys.

A friend (well my boss) is looking at getting a SSD for his 2008 Imac.
Just wondering the best options in the 100GB area.
He's not looking for blistering speeds (or the price that goes with it) but with soo many technologies and compatibility of said tech and range of drives available I said I'd ask about the best bets for his system.

P.S he's not on Lion but will probably upgrade when he gets a new system drive.

Intel 320 would probably be the best bet as his system doesn't have SATA 6Gbps. Chances are he doesn't game with it so I honestly think 60GB would be fine unless he uses FCP or some other monstrously large program.

I agree on the Intel 320. Would be my first choice.

Cheers guys, forwarded your suggestions.

I'm actually now thinking of getting my feet wet in the SSD market myself.
I'm running the system listed in the link thingy ^&-->
Less the HDD's (It's complicated)

Thinking about a vertex 2 / 3.. and a 2TB WD green.

Questions are:
How much room am I gonna need ideally for:
win 7 ultimate (64) + some games (approx 30gig ish maybe 50 at max) without shortening the life of the drive.
I've not kept up with all the technologies that are around and about as far as SSD's go, so I'm looking for something pretty fast, little to no degradation, (idle time isn't a problem at all, if needed) but also without going too extreme on the price if at all possible.

Main reason I'm asking is I haven't a clue which drives I would need to move temp files to the larger drive, which drives require idle time or not, how much spare room is generally needed etc etc etc.

I'm not afraid of playing around and finding out what I need about a drive once I've gotten it. But I'd like some experienced heads to point me at a few options with their pro's / cons rather than learning about every drive type / tech.

Cheers in advance.

don't bother installing any games on an SSD, little to no benefit at all.

That is debatable. There are games that can have load time decreases. Plus some games that have an open enviroment will have a substantial increase in minimum frame per second.

Whats the point in getting an SSD if there is no point in loading games?

Surely at least I should get great load times?

If the difference is so minimal I may forget the ssd totally and just get another wd black as the main (but far from only) thing I use my pc for is gaming.
(PC usage would be mostly gaming; anything from mmo to fps to rts, net + movies / music, some photo and movie editing.)
