Default Corsair Force Series GT 120GB SSD Review Comment Thread

With a review repertoire that has been highly focused upon high performance 240GB drives, we thought it was high time to begin looking at the more affordable 120GB side of the spectrum. The new Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD fit the bill perfectly; it is supposed to offer enthusiast-level benchmark numbers while retailing for a fraction of the 240GB version's cost. However, there are some trade offs that have to be explored.

Okay, so it's faster than last generation's 120GB drives but slower than this generation's 240GB drives. How does it compare to the other current-gen 120GB drives?

Nice review. I know I kind of wished I had waited for the GT versions to come out as they see to do a bit better with the non compressible data. I'm sure people will want to see how this compares to the Patriot Wildfire 120GB and the Vertex 3 Max IOPS 120GB. For me though what I would really like to see is a review of the Corsair Force 3 240GB, as I can't find a single review for the 240, only the 120s.

All in all another good review AkG.

Thanks for the review ... very informative as usual. I've got one on order and can't wait for it to arrive. It will be bottlenecked in a laptop for a while, but will eventually be migrated to a new desktop in a few months :) It's replacing a failing Momentus XT.

We have to start somewhere.

Expect more 120GB reviews in the coming weeks.

The real question is... does it fail/have issues as much as the Vertex drives?
