New Optical SLOW???

I had a good LG GH22NS50 or something that was fine on my Q9550/P5Q Pro system

now, with my 2500K/P8P67 Deluxe, and with a more recent GH24NS50, the imageburn process is SLOW...I even had errors (my first coaster on a LG DVD burner) on one burn...

I actually had to force stop imageburn, reset the comp, reboot, the drive was still reading the disc...had to disconnect the drive, reboot in windows ,then turn off, reconnect the drive and reboot to get out of this shyte...

DVD DL burns always been flawless and uneventful...what wrong with the new drive?

change port or cable? :)

I tried to change disk speed to MAX, and process priority to HIGH and I get much better performance.

I used another disk of the same brand, MEMOREX (RITEK)...and it worked good...WTH...anyway, it works better now, 10 minutes to burn that ISO instead of 40 minutes...

Could have been a coaster.

Could have been a coaster.
Well, yes. It was the first disk on top of the spindle...although it probably doesn't have anything to do with it..

I heard of the expression "coaster" before, but i've been lucky not to get one bad burn in the last few years...
