Default How to prepare my 120GB Vertex 1 for re-install?

Howdy all,

I'm in the process or building another setup (2500K+P8P67 DELUXE B3).

My SSD, the OCZ Vertex 1 120GB, firmware 1.5 is still doing good and pulling strong at 89% health.

Cell wearing= 1194 cycles.. (in indilinx SSD status)
reads =3248GB
writes = 1018GB
it always ran fine in Win7 64 as a boot drive and games drive...

Tomorrow, I'll have to wipe it before I install it in my new rig...(don't know how)...plz help me!!!

Do a quick format. That is all you need to do.

Oh yes? I thought formatting in any of it's forms hurts SSDs...

What about what's called "sanitary erase"? Is it something you're familiar with?

Your drive supports TRIM. A quick format should send a TRIM command to the entire drive.

Do a secure erase to set the drive to back to factory fresh state.

Also, check the OCZ forums for a new firmware that may convert your Vertex into a Vertex Turbo. I just did it myself and it worked great:
