WD RMA, warranty gone

i got RMAed black drive, it came in sealed anti-static bag, just like when you buy new drive
Is this brand new or refubbed in sealed bag?

also, I ran warranty check it says warranty exp 6/30/11 ???
This is a cavair black SATAIII 64mb, i bought just little over a year ago.
Even if my memory is way off, warranty expiring in 2011 means that I bought this drive 5 years ago
There is no fking way this hard drive was available 5 years ago.

Do WD shave off warranty after RMA or do I need to call WD?

I believe with WD you only really get 1 RMA with their hard drives hence the cut down warranty expiration date, though i could be wrong.

since when? did they recently change the fine prints?
I've done RMA before and remaining warranty carried over to RMA drive.

All drives back from RMA come sealed in an anti static bag but if it is refurbished or re-certified then it will say on the label. I know with Seagate that it even has a teal coloured boarder on the label.

The warranty on my WD product is wrong. How can I update, correct, or extend the warranty on my WD product?
Warranty on the replacement product is shorter than the warranty on the original product
