Default What is the coolest 1TB hard drive?

I'm setting up a QNAP TS-100 with a 1TB drive.

I need to know which one of the 1TB drives runs the coolest,
as in; lowest temperatures at load.

It'll be on 24/7 and since the QNAP TS-100 is a
passive NAS enclosure, I need the coolest 1TB harddrive
possible so I don't bake my the drive.

Thank you for your time and comments.

Anandtech

This review covers the thermals for three different 1 TB drives, worth looking at. The Hitachi, WD, and Seagate's are all pretty close.

I know my 500GB 7200.10 gets a lot hotter than my 7200.11, so go with the Seagate. That and I'm partial to Seagate. I've got 8 of their drives now (6x320 and 2x500). Plus, drives seem to be about the same temperature when under heavy read/write operations without a whole lot of variation.

I've got both the Hitachi and WD 1 TB drives..

As per the Anandtech review, the WD 1 TB Greenpower runs MUCH cooler.

I just popped the WD 1TB drive into my NAS.

It is warm to touch, on the edge of being hot, but hopefully it'll be ok.

One thing I'm noticing is that this thing is louder then I expected
with the "weeeeeeeeee'in"
