Default Crucial C300 64Gb 4x Raid-0 / Perc 6i - Needs work?

Just finished reinstalling windows on my C300s. I used pretty much ever SSD tweak in guide shown here:
Windows 7 SSD Installation Procedure [Archive] - SSD Technology Forum
Although i wasnt able to enable write caching in windows, LSI MegaRaid Storage manager says its on.

Here's the results of my first ATTO run:

Which doesn't seem so bad, until i compare it to this one:

from here: 4x C300 in RAID0 ATTO bench - Crucial Community

So what the heck did I do wrong?

Yes, i know the other bench was done using 4x of the 256Gb models. But the read speeds are supposed to be very similar across the entire C300 series. 4x 350Mbps should be higher than 600Mbps.... Sigh.

Yes, I also know its late to be posting this. But im frustrated. Gnight.

First off ATTO is a poor benchmark. Stick w/ AS SSD or CrystalDiskMark if you are looking for benches. Secondly the Perc 6i has a rather old and slow (for this day in age) ROC. Third it isn't a SAS/SATA 6Gbps capable card. If you are looking for ultimate RAID0 performance w/ these drives on the cheap, you should grab an LSI 9211-4i from CanadaComputers ($200) or an 9211-8i ($250 from Newegg).

Sigh. You're probably right lowfat.

Do you think running them off my 850 southbridge @ sata 6gbps will be faster? Or should i just go hunting for a faster raid card right away?

Not good enough IMO. These things are supposed to reach reads of up to 350 by themselves... with 4x of them I was sure I would be reaching towards 800-900mbps. 600 is downright disappointing. Might as well have only bought two of them if thats the best they can do.... sigh.

Where's AkG?

Honestly I do not know a lick about AMD chipsets and their capabilities. However I doubt it will do all that well. But I have my doubts it will fair all that well.

Your best bet would definitely to sell the PERC 6i then grab the LSI 9211-8i. It is one hell of a budget card for RAID0 arrays.

Awesome. So much for the perc being a great performance/price raid card.

The PERC 6i is a great card for hard drives and a RAID5/6 array, where you don't need a whole lot of bandwidth but reliability. But It just can't hang w/ quality SAS/SATA 6Gbps cards anymore.

Looks like it'll be going into Behemoth pretty soon then. Ill see about the LSI 9211-4i/8i card. Need to sell a bit more before i can afford it tho... any other suggestions? Areca? 3ware?

Areca you will end up spending over a grand to get comparable performance. 3ware & Adaptec won't come anywhere near the 9211-8i. For a $275 card it is pretty much the best you can do for SSD RAID0.
