Great guide this thread is, BTW. Very useful as it was hard to find anything useful from googling, just got a bunch of crap. This thread guides you on what to do after the windows install to prolong the life of the drive. Thanks a lot!

My computer feels brand new, so much faster! Glad I finally got an SSD.

Just saw the thread bumpage. Sorry about that. Yeah prices SHOULD be heading south soon...but I wouldnt worry about it all that much. You get to enjoy a very, very good drive NOW. I doubt we are going to see such a large drop that you would go "OMFG I should have waited!!!!!1111!!!1111!!!!1111".

Its a good drive, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Bought my first SSD ( Intel 520 x 120gb ) and I'll be the first to admit I do not know squat about them. I intend to use it for a folding build, will there be any problem if I do not have any other drive? I do not really need a storage drive on this rig.

Hey AKG. I can't seem to find the AMD Southbridge drivers for any chipset, let alone for my AMD 770 chipsets. All I did was i nstall the AMD Chipset Drivers. Is that enough?

I've seen lots of toolmarks on 'em...but that has to be one of the worst ones I've seen in awhile! I'd run the long test in the toolbox to make sure its just the exterior that got past the QA dept!

I took it back to MemX this morning , and made em open another one .It was just as bad.

That's atrocious.Does Intel have a warratee friendly methodology I need to sign off on to clean that off ?

It better effing work forever.
