Updating SSD firmware

Can this be done externally? i haver a USB enclosure for another drive, and the machine the SSDs are going into doesnt currently have any ram (awaiting newegg order). The drives are OCZ Vertex 2E's.

Thanks, btw you think I could sell a unopened SSD with a unopened tray for close to what I payed? I ordered a crucial C300 but bought some V2Es so im gonna sell the C300 once it arrives, and a silverstone 2.5 to 3.5 double drive holder.

Got my V2Es for $80 a pop from memory expresses black friday, that is if OCZ decides the rebate will work... lol

^^^^ OCZ's rebates are a "Credit Card" with the rebate amount on the Card itself....... ;( ........its the only rebate that I applied for and received NOTHING....think it was about 9 months ago I sent in all the rebate paperwork to OCZ. It was for a Vertex II 120 GB.....so, don't hold your breath!

Evga and Corsair offer an actual rebate cheque and I have ALWAYS received this in about 6 - 8 wks.

Last OCZ rebate i did was a cheque, but it was like 5 years ago.

I got mine. But I hate these damn pre-paid Mastercards.

If you're going to re-sale it BNIB, I'd say drop the tax and include the shipping. Should be able to make a sale quickly. Though at a slight loss of course. If you can wait it out, just drop the tax. Has to be somewhat cheaper otherwise people will just go for a trusted store/site.

I plan on including shipping. Prob listing for $120, i payed $139+ S&H for it.

And including a 2.5 to 3.5 bracket, and the silverstone ones are not cheap, and work with most specialty brackets (bought to work with my HAF932 bracket, the ones that came with my V2Es fit luckily).

Did i just get referred to as untrustworthy :)

Hopefully i get it on Monday because the 3rd is credit day and I need to cover my ass lol.

lol nah, I'm just saying, most people probably would go for a retail over a user if it was the same price. Have to offer a little incentive ;) Good luck with the sale though and enjoy your SSDs. Better give us some benchmarks!

Those pre-paid credit cards can be redeemed for cash at the appropriate banks -- believe Bank of Montreal is the most common MC backer.
