Default How the f&@# do you get esata to work

Purchased a BlacX USB 2 & eSata and no dice on 4 computers ...
If I switch to AHCI in bios ... windows doesn't boot.
Works fine on USB.
What's the deal here ...

You need to select AHCI before you install windows, and/or do some googling as to how to set it after the fact.

Requires a registry edit because stupid Windoze disables AHCI since it's not needed after your install.

windows 7 solution:

Changing BIOS from IDE mode to SATA AHCI mode, after WHS is already installed

If you have an AMD mobo, it's whatever AMD SATA controller download you use. Go to your mobo website and find which one and do the same except for the AMD-based mobo SATA controller (aka the AHCI/RAID driver for your AMD mobo).
