Default Question on this raid controller.

So i scored this free raid controller from work. I was thinking about using it as a boot drive array since it only does raid 0, 1, and 1e.

LSI SAS3082E-R

Think it would be a good use of the controller and not a waste.

No harm in trying it? However I'm guessing it won't be much faster (if at all) than onboard, assuming you have Intel ICHR currently.
