Need a fast small SDD

I’m looking for a real fast SSD; I just need around 40 gb. I already own a 40 and a 80gb in others PCs , so 40 is enough for me ( page files on a second HD ) Of course I’m looking speed here, so if by example a 120 Gb is worth it, it’s ok, I’m looking (preferably) for something under $ 300. I’m not too much in love with OCZ , with my last RMA experience, so I will prefer give my money other place as much as possible.

Try to stick with those that have a trim support.

thanks both of you, this for my new mini itx GIGABYTE GA-H55N-USB3 build , use only for browsing and may be office 2010, if no one have better to offer I think I will go with the 40gb corsair.

Then if you don't need for more the 40 corsair is the way to go. You can also look at the 60GB corsair for like 119 I think in the sale at NCIX. Both will serve you well!

If you can afford the 60....get a 60. It will be faster than the 40s.

Another option no one has mentioned yet is G.Skill Phoneix PRO line. The Pro's are getting the EXACT same firmware as the Vertex 2....and come in 40, 60 and 120GB flavours. I would buy from them LONG before I would buy from OWC.

YMMV but those are the three I would be taking a long hard look at. :)

I remember reading that when the Intel refresh will come up in January (or about), the 80GBs will sell for the price of 40GBs...

no probs at all with booting from it. I have a 120 here. ;)

BUT it is two (in this case) SF 40gbs in Raid 0. So no trim. On the upside even in degraded state it is about 25% faster than a typical SF drive in degraded state (40 vs 30mbs on 4k writes in degraded). You will also need to DL the windows drivers for it as they DONT come with it.
