Planning on picking up one of these tmrw, can't decide which one is better. any help? it's meant to be a boot drive but i'll probably install one or two frequently played games on it.

I'd say they are pretty much the same drive. OCZ's firmware might be a little better...one or the other...depends on the price...even there they are pretty close..$3 difference on NCIX $129-$132 after MIR on the sale's page...

Yeah spec wise they both look to be about the same, and over here in the UK they are priced about the same too.

I have the Vertex 2 60Gb and i tell you now,If you get this SSD you will not be disappointed,Its very fast...It also comes with the Mounting brackets included which is a added bonus, because some other SSDs brands on the market dont give you them included.

The vertex 2 will be the faster of the two. Full stop end of sentence.

You wont notice the dif in sequential speed as the SF only crippled the low 4k end....which is the single most important number for an OS drive.

In real world the dif will be in the 1 second to 3 second range so its NOT a huge difference BUT if both are the same price or within 10-15 bucks...its a no brainer. Get the full speed Vertex 2.

IF you want an apples to apple comp between the two companies look at the Agility 2 vs Force. As the agility 2 has the same crippled firmware as the Corsair Force line.

Oh and Vertex 2's also come std with the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter plate. ;)

^^ this. I picked up the Vertex 2 and it seems much more stable than the 150GB Raptor drive I was using before for me OS. I'm very happy with my vertex 2. I decided against Corasair after reading a lot of reviews and benchmarks online. It's a bonus that the 2.5"-3.5" adapter plate is included lol.

I've tried 3 different drives for an OS. The Kingston V+ rated 7.4 on the Windows rating. The Agility rated 7.3 and the Vertex II rated 7.9. I've not used the Corsair drive.

While the Windows rating should be taken with a grain of salt, it allowed me to check the efficiency of the drives.

thanks for all the help guys. I ended up going with the Vertex 2. gunna be installing it once i get my hands on a copy of win7. I used one of the display rigs at NCIX with a corsair X40 and gotta admit it was noticeably fast.
