What Stripe Size to Use?

I got my hands on Perc5i (with bbu and cache) and want to set up 2 arrays, but I haven't been able to determine the optimum stripe size. Any suggestions or general formulas to help determine the best stripe size?

NOTE: I am using latest Dell firmware on my perc 5i. the LSI firmware would only work on cold boots so I went back to Dell.

Array 1: RAID5 (4x1TB drives)
Purpose: Photo editing (avg size 10-12mb), movie/tv/music repository (read only performance, but not as important as photo editing performance)
Read Ahead: adaptive read ahead
Write Policy: write back
Stripe size=???

Array 2: RAID 10 (4x500gb drives)
Purpose: video editing and rendering
Read Ahead: adaptive read ahead
Write Policy: write back
Stripe size=???

if it's for large files the bigger the better for file transfers

yeah, I would set the stripe size to the maximum available.
