Corsair Force or Mushkin Callisto Deluxe?
 

should i get the Corsair Force or Mushkin Callisto Deluxe? they both seem to be about the same?

Both feature the same SandForce SF-1200 controller and have aprox. the same performances.

Other options based on the same SandForce controller are the OCZ Agility 2, OCZ Vertex 2, G.Skill Phoenix Pro, Patriot Inferno, OWC Mercury Extreme Pro. Look for a drive with extended capacity: 60GB, 120GB, 240GB, instead of the first wave of SandForce SSDs which had only 50, 100, 200GB.

Buy whatever is cheaper or has the better warranty.

Looks like a good decision to buy either one. I'm curious to find out the reviews of the Mushkin though.

Look at Mushkin's warranty length and decide. Corsair has one of the best supports, so.. one part of your decision is already solved.

Honestly, if you are not looking at the Vertex 2 then the performance factor is a non issue for all the rest. (though OWC is getting the full speed firmware too).

If warranty is the next biggest for you then its a tie. Both come with 3 yrs IIRC.

If price is the next....get the cheapest.

You really cant go wrong with either on customer support as both are good companies. Though for what it is worth I prefer Corsair ;)

Yes it does.
Only the Vertex 2 and (very recently) OWC get "full speed" firmware. The difference is mild to moderate depending on the test.
Basically, SF 1200 with full NON-hobbled firmware w/ MLC vs SF 1500 w/ MLC was almost no difference in performance.....so as to make the SF 1500 "better" they gut the SF1200's IOPS performance. OCZ and OWC and maybe one or two others have paid for the privilege of getting the non crappy firmware. Sadly, Corsair has not.

You'll get it in the next day I guess, Edmonton being real close to BC. OCZ has the best SSD support forum (on the manufacturer's side of the house)!
