WinXP 32bit - Storage options beyond 2TB

Hello

Right now I have a desktop/HTPC that has a mirrored 1TB array for my OS and other stuff, and a single 2TB drive for media. I have 2 external hard drives, a 1TB and a 2TB that serve as backup drives.

My 2TB media drive is slowly getting full. I was considering an external RAID enclosure, perhaps hosting 4 2TB drives on RAID5 but apparently WinXP 32bit won't recognize anything over 2TB unless the drives are dynamic and spanned. But there is no redundancy in that.

Is there any solution that will let WinXP see a drive thats over 2TB with redundancy? Another option is going to Win7 but I really don't want go there and reinstall everything. My current setup is working just fine.

Any advice is appreciated.

Partition them into two or more "drives". Make a 2tb partition give it / make it letter "d". With the left over space make another partition call it "e". Voila. All your space can be used...just not as one "big" drive. ;)
