Depends. In theory...win 7 sets up the alignment properly. In reality...it screws up every once in awhile. DL and see. Most likely not needed, but you never know. Of course you can simply run diskpar -i and see what the alignment is. 2048 is what it SHOULD be via win 7 installer. If you want to save the bandwidth :)

Will that also work with XP 32 bit? I haven't gone back and tried this again after the issue I had initially.... ;)

TBH. No idea wrt paragon. I dont run XP on ssds anymore. Only XP systems I have left are the testbed...and an older AMD duallie both of which have wd hdds.
BUT yup diskpar will show you what it is in XP. JUST cant change it after the fact w/ out nuking the partitions.

Edit crap. -s is for setup -i is for informtion. To show the info you want -i not -s. Sorry about that!

windows installer sets it to 1024kb by default i am looking at it where this PAT tool sets it to 2048. check again akg not trying to sound like a "dis/ck" it just comes so easy

edit this tool works great so far for me on "single disk boot setup" with vista or 7 have not checked xp have not run that in a long time. every raid setup i have tried it toast the boot-loader and because it moves a lot of windows will not just rebuild it so far anyways.
