Its a math thing and yes its normal to see 296 out of 320 and if you hdd is only seeing 137gb then the drive is possibly faulty because windows will stop at 127gb if you don't have SP1 isntalled.

The size thing is a long-standing issue between how manufacturers label their drives vrs how windows reads them.

HD manufacturers use the "giga" (or mega for older drives) label as being 1000, while windows recognises a gig as 1024 hence the discrepancy between rated and what's read by the OS. (There's also a little bit of overhead for unusable OS space, but it's hardly noticable with the huge drives we've got nowadays).

Well anyway, with further ados I am going to order the western digital..don't think I'm going to see a better offer than 99cad?..or am I ?
