Default HDD software?

I'm having some computer issues and I think it's because of my HDD, is there any software that can check if my HDD is dieing or something along those lines?

You could use the Windows HDD scan utility and Check all Sectors option. It will report if there's any bad sector on it..

If you can find the name brand of your hdd, the manufacturers generally have free software which will do a full battery of tests on it.
