My System Specs

Default External HD Query

Ok....so I've had enough of packing a "handful" of Jump Drives back n forth to work every month and having to delete stuff in order to make room in a pinch.

So, looking for a 320 - 500 GB (or more External Drive) that is small n lightweight. Seen a few that look good on NCIX for reasonable price, may even go 1TB.

Question is:
- is eSATA a faster means of transferring Data then typical USB 2.0 ? Both my Desktop and Notebook have eSata, so should I go eSata + USB 2.0? Is the speed difference significant?

Thanks in advance

Its alright..found my answer...eSata it is!

Ah not into packing around power adpaters and crap....think USB 2.o will be suffice as no huge file transfers...likely go with this one

What about a usb/esata enclosure, then buy a cheap drive and pop it in?

something like
NCIX.com - Reviews of Eagle Tech ET-CS2PESU2-BK 2.5IN SATA to USB/ eSATA Black External Enclosure W/ Built-In USB Cable - ET-CS2PESU2-BK.

Now im not 100% sure, but it would make sense if you only require the ac adaptor when using esata.
