Default Not enough sata power connectors

I'm looking to add three or four more drives to my system. However, I only have two sata power connectors left. There's spare molex connectors on the current module cables being used (modular power supply) as well as on the modules not in use. I've seen molex to sata adapters, but I have a couple questions..

First, is there any harm in using a molex to sata adapter?

If not, does it matter if I use the sata connectors and molex connectors on the same module? This guys says no. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/ [...] 250AAd2hA6
Is he right?

Also just noticed there's no orange wire (3.3v) going to the molex..

Thanks

First of all the guy in your link have no idea of what is talking about . you can't fry the 3.3 volts circuit on the drive, as the 3,3 orange wire is connected to nothing on the molex adaptor, the worst that can happen may be the drive may not working . I say may be , because I have no knowledge of a drive that need this 3,3 volts to work..

Using a molex to SATA adapter is pretty much harmless. You're safe.

I have a Windows Homer Server with 10 internal drives, about 4 or 5 of them are using molex -> sata adapters and their are zero problems doing so. You are safe to use them.

IIRC the 3.3V on the SATA is just for hotswap capability (which most desktop chipsets don't support properly anyways)

i used an adapter on my machine, not because i didnt have enough connectors, but just for better cable management lol. Works flawlessly, always has. Nothing to worry about.
