Recover some data off a corrupted drive So long story short, messing around with RAID 1 left me with a corrupted partition on my hard drive that had all my movies, music, and downloads. Anyone got any tips or suggestions on things I can do to try and get some of that data back? |
oups second tread on the subject, for someone who have not read the first one, the op take a non raid disk with os and data, add an other disk in the system, go in the raid bios and setup a mirror raid, after a predictable faillure to boot, try to repair 2 times the OS with the repair option of the Windows install disk , |
ya not to sure about how this could work ( recover after raid controller setup to wipe data)???. never done this before anyone? |
May be a software like Ontrack. |
Success!!! Managed to recover everything! So I think I'm just gunna use windows backup... |

yes please update ( or at least backup all data before trying raid again) |
I used NTFS GetDataBack and everything was there. I think it just messed up the MBR (think that's what it's called) |
Raid 1 is pretty easy to recover, Getdataback, unstopable copier or other software like that always work. If you have been in raid 0 then...I don't know if it's even possible. Maybe set the array back and do a GetDataBack? but that's not the topic. Happy that you have been able to find everything back my friend! |
