Default Nice review but...

Very nice review but...it would be nice to include the Intel X25m g2 80 and 160 GB versions.

Also it would give intel a different position in the value segment, cost per GB went down a lot.

Good review, but I think he got his chipsets mixed up on page 10.

It appears that ATTO + Intel ICH10 + Agility EX is not a great combination.
Unless I missed something?

It might be a cool thing to aquire for some but not at 400-450 dollars in my books
Best put that money in an rrsp.
Those prices are way to high yet.

I wonder if the fact that OCZ is now using 50nm MLC and SLC NAND from Intel indicates that Intel will be releasing 34nm SLC drives soon?

Also wondering if they plan on using NAND from any other companies in the Agility EX like they do in the vanilla Agility.

My guess is that they never caught on in popularity and are probably being phased out. They cost more than a 120GB MLC Vertex and "only" perform slightly better. I personally love the SLC longevity BUT they are "neither fish nor fowl nor good red meat" so to speak. They are not fast ENOUGH to attract the high enthusiast (who went Vertex SLC) and while a good value for an SLC drive....they are not cheap enough to attract the value orientated crowd. Crying shame if that is the case and its not just a case of lack of stock as they swap over to a smaller NAND.

Yeah, it probably would have been a perfect fit. I actually have a HP tablet that it is being used in. Turned an slow and old HP junker into a sweet and viable tablet. Perfect size, perfect speed, perfect power consumption, even lower heat output. Probably why it has "stuck" where every other SSD I have had in it didn't.
