Best SSD for Windows 7

I am looking into a new computer build and have been suggested at getting a ssd. I will only have the os on there as I will have a 1tb for everything else. What would be the best performing ssd? I have 400 to spend. I was looking at either the x-25m or the Patriot torqx. Also is there any settings I would need to modify in windows 7 to optimize for ssd.

intel/indilinx ssd's are the fastest

If you can find a X25-M G2 drive for a reasonable price that is still the best bet.

Price Compare shows them around the net, and in stock. Fairly limited tho, looks like production levels arnt where we would like. G2R5's (Retail) are ~300, while G2C1's (oem) are around $10 less, but dont come with a 3.5" mounting kit and SATA cable that the retails do.

Im going to personally hold off a wee bit longer and see if they fix their manufacturing levels to get prices down before I commit. They said these drives should be 200USD and we're not at that level yet.

That is a G1 however. Id rather spend the extra 30 bills to have TRIM support in win7.

Retail: Retail X25M 80GB Mainstream SSD. Gen2, MLC flash technology, 2.5inch Form factor, SATA (3.0Gb/s), 9. (SSDSA2MH080G2R5) INTEL

OEM: X25M 80GB Mainstream SSD. Gen2, MLC flash technology, 2.5inch Form factor, SATA (3.0Gb/s), 9.5mm (co (SSDSA2MH080G2C1) INTEL

It is, however, from memory express. Not sure what the duties are like from them if they are shipping from the states.
