My System Specs

Default what are the benefits of running RAID?
I know very little about RAID the only knowledge I have is from what I read in wiki but I am not sure what the benefit would be to run RAID
what are the benefits?

speed or redundancy or both, raid is defiantly not a backup :)

Raid redundancy is a failsafe, like Putz said, not a backup. Backup implies something to go back to.
