Default Cheap SSD for OS

I just ordered a SUPER TALENT UltraDrive ME FTM64GX25H 2.5" 64GB SATA II MLC for $170 after taxes on newegg. You think this is a good price and will be alright for an OS drive?

i was considering it too - seems to have really good read/write speeds and could be a simpler way to get raid0 performance

Yes, it's Barefoot-based and will work great for your OS. The price seems fair too.

A Barefoot is a Barefoot is a Barefoot. Only the firmware, the size of the cache and the quality of the NAND makes any difference.

I just want to try something faster than my 1TB black HDD.

Ahhh, I thought it might be a jmicron based product, my bad. Go for it. You will be amazed at the difference it makes as an os drive.

Wow I was looking at also getting a SSD to store my steam games and it would cost me about $1000 yikes. Well That is out of the option for awhile :(.

WTF. That must be one big ass Steam folder. You could always just install the games that you play most to the SSD.

Ncix had Vertex 30GB for $100 last week surprise sale, OCZ does a good job on updating the firmware, check their forums, you'll be amazed (added Windows 7 TRIM support, faster write with latest 1.41 version)

Well I just got my SSD in today. Anything I should know before plopping it in? I am also gonna google some guides but would appreciate your favorite links for info and how to optimize the OS. The OS is gonna be 7 RC1.
