That right folks. Not a Vertex, but the Vertex

Soon as I get my PC back, there will be the other Vertex in my Future.

Yes thats just it.
The current regime of ssd is still expensive based on warranty price and sizing.
And no its not totally relative either
I had lots of 30 and 40 gi ide even had full 5 year warranties.
Whats average 30 approx. gi ssd drive warranty?
I use canon 1D series cameras so my file sizes are pretty good size.10-16gi a pop
ssd cost a mint currently in comparisson, hundreds plus for 500gb equivilent.

Maybe someone is going to spend all that money and then oh yeah, don't forget when usb 3 starts(yes its coming) you are going to be throwing out a bunch more stuff(motherboards, mice, keyboards, associated peripherials) to I suppose to?
Different issue maybe but same line of thinking.

Computers and their associated brinksmanship status upgrades are on a far to a depreciable poduct to invest my hard earned dollars in.

But hey I don't mind if somebody else does it, its their money..as long as they don't tell me I am crazy for keeping my dollars doing more.

.
Have you never heard of backward compatibility. Why would we throw all that stuff out I think you should do some more reading on things like ssd's and usb3
( p.s i don't waste money i spend 300 to 400 every 3 to 6 months on parts and as work and hobbies go that's cheap. very cheap I mean i have dropped more then 40G's on to 1 car so when you put it into comparisons it's cheap)

Well I bet we see about upgrades to usb3 devices once they enter the availability.
as for ssds you read accusing me of not?
if you do then you know 500gi ssd are cost prohibitive now.
I already READ that.
when they come down I will look at them
You maybe don't do photography with large images.

Loving the SSD so far. Boot-up and shut-downs dramatically improved, load times, etc (you all know this).

As for how wise it is to buy these, I would say the SSD has given me the greatest perceived speed increase of any upgrade I have done in ages; however if your current rig is doing it for you and you are happy then I would wait. The prices, sizes, and reliability are improving dramatically all the time on these things so the wise financial move is to wait.

my point is they are not a risky buy anymore ( so if you can afford 1 then why not like i said a lot of us here have payed way more per gig before )
