Default Is VelociRaptor worth it?

Hi

My PC spec are

GA-P965-DS3
E6750 @ 2.66ghz
4gb ram @ 800
1 x 80gb (more than 4 years old)
4 x 250 gb
1 x 1tb
GTX 275 (yes i know....)
750W corsair

my question is, will a WD VelociRaptor help the system in anyways?
I don't play games a lot but I would appreciate a faster system

Thanks

VRaptors are hardly ever worth it. Get a 120 Vertex SSD or Torqx 128GB. THAT would be a great addition to your system. Alternatively and for less coin get 3 640GB WD Blacks, short stroke 'em and Raid them.

If your not doing anything serious I wouldn't say its worth it. I use it for gaming and well yes I notice a difference from a normal 7200 RPM HD, as things load faster in windows, and the game ofcourse runs faster/smoother I'd say but for everyday use I would never waste the money and I got a pretty good deal on mine!

Spend the money on a new SSD vs Velo...., even a WD Black is a better investment!

Do yourself a favor and get a real SSD.

Mechanical contraptions like wax cylinders, mylar tapes or polycarbonate/glass/vinyl/aluminum/shellac disks are so twentieth century.

Moving parts are failure waiting to happen.

1 Vraptor? no, not at all it will be only slightly better then a 640gb. if your going for only 1 you mind aswell get an ssd. if your raid 0ing them, then yes then scream like banshees and are are faster then any single ssd on the market with 600gb of sotrage. since 500 Dollars for 600gb or 500 for a decently sized top ssd on the market. Just depends on what you want,
