Default RAID Controller suggestions

Hiya all....eh! LOL!!!!

Looking for a POSSIBLE raid controller to add to my PC. Must be PCI express 1x.

It will house 2 or more Vertex SSDs and cost no more than 300 hopefully....but it must be a GOOD name and speed.

Suggestions?

Go with onboard. There is nothing wrong with ICH10R for non-Jmicron SSD's. PCIe x1 + SSD's = not good. You'll be hitting the max bandwidth of the bus long before onboard.

PCIe X1 for any raid controller will be ass. 4x minimum or use the onboard RAID.

Why would you want to use a Raid 1X controller instead of onboard?
