If you wanna know more information about a SSD in a PS3, Gamespot already did the test

I'd like to see them do a test with a high end drive :P

Nevermind, the Velociraptor is a lot thicker than normal 2.5" HDD. So even if you can take out the heatsink, it may not fit the PS3.

"The 2.5" form factor that WD utilizes is 15mm thick compared to the standard 9mm option found in the majority of notebooks. This means the drive will not work in the majority of notebooks available today"

That is not even a GOOD SSD. Lets see them say different with a OCZ Vertex MLC/SLC drive.
