Forgive my if I am wrong but that is an iSCSI enclosure. You need a server and a pretty high end HBA to get that going... Pretty sweet though.

**Edit** missed the first page D'OH. Looks like an LVD 80pin connection, see if you can find a decent card for it. Not sure what expansion slots you have left in your server.

Yeah. Plus harddrives with any significant storage size are going to cost an arm and a leg....

in regards to the adaptec card working. Technically it should work but since it's probably a pci-x card it will pin your pci bus since the pci-x bus has much higher bandwidth than the regular pci bus. If you really want ot just play around with raid and have a fiarly current pc get some entry level raid card from either 3ware or areca and some sata drives and have fun. Or look for an old server on ebay that includes everything. Hell i'd sell you one of my old compaq servers but since they weigh so much it would cost hundreds of dollars to ship.
