Default Raid or ssd for 150$ (average)

Hi!

I have read on the topic, but I still come to a wall.

I would like to install an OS (windows) on a small drive. So I will have a fast loading one.

What would you like to suggest for around 150$ (can)?
2 cheap drive one raid?
or a ssd drive like the patriot 32g one?

it seem that it is a reliability vs performance battle.

Do I am wrong?

Thx!

Raid. Always.

everyone will always say though "If you loose one disk from a Raid 0, then you loose everything". Its true.... but then again, you'll still have a working drive leftover you can reinstall the OS on while you wait for the other one to come back from RMA. If a single disk v-raptor or SSD or whatever crashes.... you twiddle your thumbs for days while it gets RMA'd and you have No Computer at all. Just my $0.02.

PS:

Just as an extra little note. Raid 0 failure isnt as common as you might think. In my entire life I've had 1 Raid 0 array crash on me. And even then, there were "array health" warnings beforehand that allowed me to backup everything before one of the disks died. One Raid crash, and I've been using them for years and years and my OS/Games drive.

WD Caviar black 640GB OR if you wanna save some money and don't need a 1.2TB RAID 0 lol, get 2x WD Caviar Blue 320GB, they are single platter (same size platter as the blacks, only less cache) and will provide similar results.

Here's what to expect from 2x 320GB blue drives in RAID 0... Best value by far. Got mine for 65 bucks a peice.
