I just got one of these from direct canada and I have to say going to this from a deskstar 320 gb was a HUGE difference, went from 5.3 rating to 5.9s, plus i actually find it quieter then the other drive. These are very worth the small premium over their non black counter parts, when I bough this drive it was $5 more then the 640 16mb cache blue edition..

I think I'm goign to order one of these this week because my Raptor is starting to chirp, scratch and cause BSODs. This looks like the drive to have.

Check your motherboard box. I bet that you have some SATA cable in it still.

I ordered 2 more for my PC....got them today. Going to try out a non hardware RAID 0 4 drive setup with my other two.

Well I just put in a special order at Megacomputer for the 6401AALS. He said it'd be priced around $95, but I do like to help out the smaller computer stores. Like I said in the "What happened to Mushkin?", he has pretty good prices for such a small store.

Mike's Computers? If not, that's where you should have headed! LOL, great bunch of guys...sorry, had to get that little plug in there for them...

As for the drive...I have two of them, and EVERY computer I build gets one, at least!

It's arguably the best value for a hard drive right now.
