My System Specs

Default GSkill 60Gb SSD benching

I have to tell everyone that I don't know much about storage speeds, and that this drive was given to me. I have used HD Tune for the benches.

Those numbers are a tad bit better than your Raptor...are you using this as an OS drive? If so are your load times/copy and such noticably faster?

The raptor reported 99.9%. Did you stop folding/boincing when you ran the test 3.0Charlie?

Look at that Access time though, damn that's sweet.

I wish the price on SSD's was better but I guess I will be waiting abit yet before I jump on that bandwagon.

1. Yes, OS drive. I just re-installed after a nasty virus courtesy of my eldest son... but fastest format and install I have ever seen. In all, 13 minutes for Vista Ultimate!
2. Yes Steve, I forgot to pause BOINC... stupid me.
3. Pricing is pretty good on this model, below 200$ for an OS drive.

Yes Steve. I actually did it twice, because I taught the first install borked. It didn't. 13 minutes... damn, the 60Gb format takes about 10 seconds!

Also, loading time is much, much more faster. Software, webpages, saving / copying too. And no more noise - that Raptor was noisy...

And you say one of these beasts could be found for around $200????

Damn... I could live with 60 GB if I set up network storage for my backup files........... :)
