Default The Seagate Barracuda

Hi all,
I just orderd a Seagate Barracuda SATA 500gb internal hard drive
from NCIX for about 60 bucks. Is it good and did i make right decision???

I don't remember reading about any issues, with their smaller sized drives. Just the 1 Tb + drives. You should be fine. My 640Gb Barracuda's have been perfect since day one.

I ordered 4 recently from DC - the 32MB NCQ versions, and yes they all work super quiet and fast, not a single problem - i use them mostly as external storage and/or backup think they use firmware SD15 made in Thailand - haven't had any issues yet (I must be lucky I guess )

Be careful there are two models, the .10 with 16MB which is less expensive and the .11 with 32MB - I'd spend a few dollars more and get the .11 !

i got the .10 :P 55$, its pretty cheap, and its just for storage, so i don't mind.. :P

Provided it works from day 1 and you don't have any problems within the first month or 2 you should be fine, most drives by comparison are pretty much the same brand preference is really a matter of personal choice.
