Go to any mom & pop computer store, you should be able to buy a proper adapter for $5.

I see. I managed to install it to one side with one screw, it's supports by these edges under the screw hole, it seems safe.

No its not secure.

You have two screws into soft aluminum with the height of the hdd floating in air on the side.

What happens when you put more weight on one side of a balance? It tips.

I believe you're looking for something like this.
Local puter shops should carry them.
Not worth anymore than $5

Don't play with fire - your HDD should be PROPERLY secured, all 4 screws. The brackets, as shown above is what I use, it's the best method, unlike those 5.25 adapters, because it provides for the best airflow around your hard drive and below and it's solid - those brackets can be a bit tricky to mount on the HDD, make sure you get a short screwdriver for that and properly align the brackets on each side so its level - once installed on both sides, leveled, you can "slide" it in your 5.25 area and screws in all 4 holes - you DON'T want to keep it in place with 1 or 2 screws only - that's why the 5.25 bays have 4 holes, for a purpose, to keep everything balanced and the weight spread equally.
