Default Compatability Question? Please assist!

Hello all,

I'm hoping you could answer a compatability question for me. Sure it would work, but not by itself, that system wont have any SATA headers on the motherboard, but you can buy a IDE-SATA Converter.

much better idea... those converters aren't recommended for long term solutions.

Thanks for the info. From what I gather then, if I were to purchase one of these: NCIX.com - Buy Syba SD-LP-SIL2IR Low Profile 2 Port SATA RAID Controller Card PCI - SD-LP-SIL2IR In Canada. in conjunction with this card then it should work fine?

Is there anything special I would need to do in BIOS or is it simply a matter of popping that into the PCI slot and then using a sata cable to connect the drive to that card and it should work?

Thanks for all the help so far
