Default Samsung SH-S203N

Is this Samsung Burner still very good out there. Looking to get one, but just needed advice. Cheapest is bestdirect at $25.04, but getting it from DC for few cents more $25.99 + $9.99 air shipping too.

My last two burners have been samsung and I haven't had any problems with them, but again I'm not a movie buff so I don't burn a lot of disks. :)

I'm not able to burn dual layer discs with my Samsung. Don't know why and updated the firmware but it always fails. First and last time I buy anything other than LG :)

I have the 203B also. Works great...no coaster's...no reading problems. Yeah, AFAIK, Lightscribe is the only difference. Two thumbs up.

Have you tried burning it at a lower speed manually instead of letting it auto set your burn speed.

I have tried Samsung, Lite On, and LG they have all been good to me for what I paid and they have all failed eventually from lots of use...but that is only after a couple of years and given the steps up in speed and capability plus the lowering price it has worked out pretty well for me.

I have an SH-S203N. It seems fine enough but I will admit that the only other modern drive I have to compare it with is my Pioneer DVR-112D and to be quite honest I have not used either all that frequently lately but it has never given me any issues.
