i admire the person who wrote that bit at the start and started with Dennis Ritchie and not jobs. kudos on that and a good article.

Jobs may have been a "visionary" to some but many of us realize that he would have been nothing without the massive team that actually made most of Apple's decisions. On the other hand, Ritchie was a juggernaut all by himself.

Well done and nice choices. Would have made almost all the same picks.

Not too much to argue with here. Still disappointed in Bulldozer, and feel bad for the AMD guys who stuck it out. That would be the biggest disappointment of the year for me.

Fun "roundup" SKY! I didn't follow the peripherals that much, but I generally agree with the picks in the core components set. If there was a "people's choice" section it should definitely leave room for the Z68-based ASUS GENE-Z that keeps popping up in the "New Builds" section as a recommendation. I assume every hardware enthusiast forum is sending a similar "shape up, AMD and RIM!" message.

Just be warned that you have the miss on GPUs folding for the HWC team right now

We should start our own HWC BD counseling sessions.
