Congrats to Soultribunal, l-lunter, dhoshaw & Pelt on winning the prizes and a big thx and congrats to HWC for organizing a fun and fair competition (and a thnx to ASUS too). I’ve been lurking around HWC for years and thoroughly enjoying the discussions, reviews etc… but it was the contest that finally enticed me over from NCIX where I started folding in 05. It’s seems to me that it’s all good for the cause and good fun, so congrats to all who are participating.

congrats to the winners, and congrats to the organizers for a very successful contest. How many places did HWC advance from start to finish with this competition?

According to the records we advanced 14 positions during the month (108 to 94), and our average PPD almost doubled. For folks who are new folders, 14 positions is a huge advance in a month once you get up to the top 100 teams. Most of them have been around quite a while and have a substantial head start WRT to points. We'll have to see how much of our new PPD remains now that the contest is over, but if it stays close to current levels we're in line for similar gains in position over the next month. Overall, I'm quite impressed with the results. I expected a lot of the new folders would only do slightly above the 15K requirement, but over 75% of them kept donating PPD long after they'd completed the required PPD.

sswilson I agree it is a success! Some people will stop folding, or go back to other teams, but some will stay, and some new folks who started will get the 'folding bug' and will start to plan upgrades, etc. For folks like yourself who have been folding with HWC for a long time, it must feel great to get in the top 100, and see the team grow!
