actually, there not at the moment, i have mine on a different connection from the other 1 so my ping doesn't go crazy when someone is downloading, but i think everything is going to the good connection soon and the other one (i'm on right now) is going to be canceled.

Soooo.... am I correct in thinking that my 8800GT at 750core/1900shader/2100mem is going to out PPD my 576core/1242shader/2000mem? Is it all about the shaders?

Edit: 32 or 64 bit?

Also, I'd like to fold but I can't bear the thought of leaving my rig running full load, unattended for days at a time. Can I run it for 8 hours a day? Or cut down on the load?
Well first thing is are you going to be folding using your Video card or just your cpu??

If its the video card theres many things you can do underclock your cpu. Underclock everything on your videocard and just overclock your shaders. These steps reduce electricity and heat.

If your going to use your videocard to fold you can definetely do 8 hours a day many wu's projects often take anywhere from 2-8 hours so it can definetely help even one wu a day will help cheers. Hope to see your name on the team.

Actually I've done exstensive testing with underclocking the core and memory and for a time when we were getting some newer WUs it was that way Dashock but now that the 59XX projects are here it helps to overclock all of them. ATI GPU owners don't have the ability to overclock just the shaders and have to overclock everything at once to see production increases so it makes little difference to them anyways. If I just overclock my shaders and leave the core and memory stock my ppd drops ~800ppd on my gtx 260.

We're getting quite a mix of WUs as of late and I'm hitting around 7500ppd with my gtx 260 OC'ed as stated in my sig. I run it 24/7 and have no worries about leaving it chugging away full time. It's been running these clocks for 3 months nonstop and the only respite it gets is a quick reboot every morning. I even play games while folding in the background but the completion times for all WUs slows down by half which is ok by me. I don't use the smp anymore to fold because it slows down my gaming, surfing, ect way to much and causes to many EUEs if my games are to demanding.

People should experiment on their own though as you'll find all WUs aren't created equally. Some will thirst for more shaders and not need so much core and mem while others will want everything you can squeeze out of your cards. Also watch your temps as some Projects will create upwards of a 10C heat variation from one WU to another, so a stable folding OC will quickly go south and EUE if a more demanding Project rolls along.

If thats so i havent seen any decrease in my ppd except for the 511 the only thing i have seen decrease my ppd is when i have many tasks opened because i have my cpu underclocked as well....

I was running these tests for many months but maybe things have changed hopefully someone else can retain the same results...maybe it has to do with videocard? my 8800GT Is a little old now.
