I did a build today
The cables finally arrived yesterday. Haven't installed yet but I opened the box to check them out. All cables look good and are flexible, EXCEPT for the 12VHPWR! Corsair are finally offering the Type 5 "pro" series cables for their new PSUs. I ordered a white set and should have them within the next couple of weeks. I hope they are less rigid, especially the 12VHPWR GPU cable.- Signal2Noise

Those were all settings suggested to disable for troubleshooting NVMe detection from various sites posted on the interwebs. I‘ll likely just leave everything as they are currently set now. Here's an update.... The TL;DR: I got close but no cigar. I removed the OS Boot NVMe from M2P and put in one of the new ones in it's place: no detection. Yes, piecemeal upgrades will be acceptable if this system goes the distance. No 4K gaming yet. I use an ultra wide monitor which the current 1070 handles no problem.
